The short version

Some links on this site, mostly on the gear pages and in guide gear callouts, are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

What that does and doesn’t change

We only list gear we’ve used ourselves through a full season, whether or not it pays us to. Every product page includes what we’d change about it, not just what we like — that section isn’t affected by whether the link is an affiliate link.

Where the links go

Affiliate destinations are configured per product, not hardcoded into the page templates, so we can move a product to a different retailer or program without rewriting the guide it appears in.
